1 - Pre –Stretched High Tensile Steel Hexagon Core Wire

FireWire uses only the purest of materials for all stages of manufacturing including core wire. After the core wire is manufactured it is subjected to a pre- stretching technology. This revolutionary process makes the string resistant to premature breakage and enables the tightly wound wrap wire to maintain its state throughout the strings extended life. FireWire Strings require very little effort to stay in tune, which is the result of pre-stretched core wire. The tightly wound wrap wire prevents dirt and grime from entering the winding, which dramatically increases the overall life and tonal quality of the strings. Fret buzz is reduced as well. The unique properties of our pre-stretched core wire enables FireWire String makers to work outside of current industry standards. Even if the size of the core wire is increased or decreased, the results are pliable, easy playing strings.

2 - Exotic Micro-grain Wrap Wire

FireWire Strings are made with exotic micro-grain wrap wires that have an extremely dense grain structure. When combined with the pre-stretched core wire, these wrap wires effectively lock out perspiration and humidity. Residue build up, dullness and loss of tonal equilibrium are the results of perspiration and humidity entering the strings. When the developers of FireWire Strings sat down to create a longer lasting string, they chose not to coat the strings. Even though a coating may increase the life of a string, there is a loss in the overall quality of sound when any type of coating is used. Knowing this, FireWire has opted not to follow others in the creation of an Extreme Performance string line; instead FireWire has created an innovative manufacturing processes which preserves the old school feel with the new school sound. Nothing is sacrificed for quality sound.
